555 Renovation Campaign Update - Summer 2022

Written by: Garrison Ledbury - 7/5/22

The Delta Chi Epsilon Housing Corporation - Sigma Pi Delta-Iota’s Alumni Board - has begun developing the next series of projects for its renovation of the Delta-Iota Chapter house.

These projects will include:

  • Replacing all windows in the basement,

  • Installing frosted glass blocks in the basement bathroom, and

  • Replacing the back fire escape door

The Alumni Board is in contact with two different contractors, including Eastman Cartwright, to determine the scope of work and the financial and logistical needs to complete the windows and fire escape door.

Following the installation of these improvements, the Alumni Board will work to assess the 555 Renovation fund’s financial status. The amount of funding remaining will determine when the next phase of work can begin.

There has been a large growth in donations to the renovation campaign. 2020 saw the campaign produce $7,970.00 from 176 donors; 2021 gained some small momentum with $7,995.00 raised from 201 donors; in 2022 alone, over $5,119.15 was raised by 143 alumni and their families. With this trajectory, the Alumni Board expects to bring in over $10,000 by the end of the year and every year thereafter.

Previous phases of the 555 Renovation campaign included replacing the electrical panel in the basement, gutting the basement interior to allow for future work, and installing a stormwater mitigation system.

Alumni and their families are encouraged to contribute to the 555 Renovation Campaign at the chapter’s website here: http://www.sigmapiuwp.org/. Information about the chapter, Alumni Board, and chapter history can also be found there.
