Our brotherhood regards community service with high importance, and we strive to give back to the Platteville and UW-Platteville communities. Every academic year, our brothers contribute hundreds of hours of community service across numerous events.

Some of the major recurring service events that our chapter participates in include:

THE MINING & ROLLO JAMISON MUSEUMS

Beginning in 2017, Sigma Pi has partnered with the Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums to help with maintenance and clean-up of the Museums. With a collection of over 30,000 items, our brothers continue to help move these artifacts to safe storage. Additionally, the chapter has assisted the museums with multiple renovation projects, along with setting up for museum programs.

RACE DAY EVENTS

One of Delta-Iota Chapter’s alumni runs Race Day Events, an event production, race timing, and equipment rental company located in Fitchburg, WI. Race Day Events works with all types of events from small, community 5k/10 run/walks, to large multi-day bike rides, triathlons, mud runs and full marathons across Wisconsin. The event our chapter helps with most often is the Monona 20k, held each year in Madison, WI. Our brothers provide water, snacks, and rest stations for runners at different points of the marathon track.

PIONEER PROVISIONS

Since 2017, Delta-Iota Chapter has helped grow and staff UW-Platteville’s on-campus food pantry, Pioneer Provisions. This pantry provides food, drinks, toiletries, and other essential items to UW-Platteville students who may be experiencing food insecurity.

HIGHWAY CLEAN-UP

Our chapter sponsors a stretch of Business Highway 151 where each semester our brothers pick up trash that accumulates on the side of the highway.
